Tutorial and paint

Today I had a tutorial with Michael Day. We discussed how to do the Seminar forms properly. We then discussed the progress of my work. He assured me that everything was going fine and suggested me to carve into the work, making an etching.

I have also received my Dhamar Gum in the post which is a resin that makes beewax more harder. It looks and feels like a sweat when dry, but when melted it looks more amber and becomes like a glue. It seems to take longer for the Dhamar glue to get mixed into the work but the results is worth it.

Todays update

I have had my practise test exhibition seminar. Here I've picked up some useful advice on how to curate a better exhibition. I have also had my seminar with Graham, where he gave me a few documentaries I could watch.

New paintings

I have now made about 7 paintings this week. This may be below my target but it should be enough to make a bigger painting. I have brought a large piece of wood from the wood workshops and put a coating of white emulsion onto it. I plan to look at mind control subjects to help me generate more ideas while I'm waiting for the paint to dry.

Update

I have had tutorial with Liz and I have been given feedback from last semesters performance. There are certain areas that I need to work on such as planning and artists I have been given to look at. I have also had a tutorial with Michelle Mckeown. She has given me and variety of sources to look at, these include painters, art shops and painting techniques. I have now took her advice and went onto using acrylics  to generate ideas. I plan to get 4- 5 done in a day. I am finding it hard however generating ideas from my head. This will of course slow the process.
